West Chester Golf & Country Club, is a Private, 9 hole golf course located in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
The West Chester Country Club was established in 1897. The course either opened in 1898 or 1899, sources differ. Some sources claim the course opened in 1898 and was designed by John Harrison. Other sources claim the course opened in 1899 and was designed by Harry Gullane. Either the early sources have different accounts, or perhaps the Gullane design replaced the Harrison course.
The course sits on hilly terrain, so expect some uneven lies. The narrow fairways are bordered by a standard cut of rough. The greens are small, slightly sloped, and fast.
The par-3 holes range from 113 to 190 yards and require control and accuracy to make par. The par-4 and par-5 holes provide a variety of exciting and fun challenges, including fairway bunkers, hill shots, and the water hazard on #8.
Additional tee locations allow this course to be played as a double loop 18-hole venue.
Blue tees: par-35, 2,799 yards, 68.0 / 125
Red tees: par-36, 2,584 yards, 71.1 / 125
